Electronic appliances can be the most fragile items you own and the must be moved properly to ensure they arrive in your house without any sort of damage. Because of this, there are things you need to remember when packing these items.  Before you pack your electronics, ensure you read the following:

Refer to the Product Manual in Terms of Storage

The product manual for every electronic device or appliance will inform you about how to store them properly. It will give instruction on things like optimal temperature ranges and other special instructions on what could damage the device.

Ideally, electronics are stored in cold environments. Take the most sensitive and useful devices such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets with so prevent them from being exposed to the cold. If you are hiring a moving and storage company, make sure they store your items within a safe temperature range. Storage facilities must be heated and monitored.

Choose the Right Boxes

If you are like many people, you don’t keep the original boxes and Styrofoam inserts your electronics come in. That is why you need to get new boxes for them.  These boxes must be slightly bigger than your appliances. Also, ensure you use durable boxes that do not have a bottom which will drop. The best thing about hiring a moving company is that they may also provide packing services. Enlisting the help of ADF Express moving crews can surely help facilitate your move.

Label Disconnected Wires

Disconnect all wire and wrap every cord securely. Use various color-coded tags to label the device or appliance which every cord goes with. Also, take photos of them using your smartphone. You can use these photos when you set your computers, video games, entertainment center, and other appliances back up.

Remove Parts

Some electronics can come with removal parts that you can put back on when they arrive in your new house. Batteries are some of these parts that you want to remove since they can leak inside your device. Also, your device may also stay switched on, causing overheating and other issues. Store the batteries separately. Moreover, in case you are moving a printer, make sure you remove the ink cartridge since condensation can affect some electronic components when the cartridge defrosts.

If you are looking to hire a professional moving company, ensure you choose one that knows how to move your most delicate items including your electronics. They should know how to protect these items in transit.
