WHAT ARE THE BEST WAYS TO INSTALL A SUSPENDED CEILING

Suspended ceilings are one of the popular kinds of ceilings. This type of ceiling can easily found in commercial buildings. A suspended ceiling is a popular choice because it not only conceals plumbing and wiring but also provides easy access to them. Suspended Ceilings by Snap Clip are quite easy to install and can be installed in a number of ways.

  • Exposed Grid:
An exposed grid is the most common way of installing suspended ceiling tiles. In order to create a grid, you have to connect the long metal straps or the mains to the tees, which are shorter pieces of metal. Precise measurements and detailed plans are crucial for creating the grid. There may arise a situation where the size of the tiles might not be evenly distributed. In such a situation, for the tiles to fit the border areas, you might have to cut them.

  • Bandraster:
In the bandraster system, the grid has a wider exposure. Due to its wide exposure, it can accommodate both square and rectangle tiles. You can make use of different shapes and patterns and make your ceiling look exactly how you would want it to. Bandraster system also helps you work around the light fixtures.

  • Concealed Grid:
Special tiles that hide the cross tees are used in the concealed grid system of suspended ceilings. Though it is aesthetically pleasing, it is more expensive in comparison to the other kinds of suspended ceilings. Using a concealed grid makes it tedious to access the plenum. A space of 8-10 inches between the tiles and the lowest hanging obstacle is needed.

As the panels are interlocked, removing any one of the tiles turns into a cumbersome task. To access the area which is behind the suspended ceiling, you have to locate the key panel which needs to be lifted. This panel has to be removed without damaging it or the other panels around it. The key panel is generally located near the corners. So if you have to access a panel in the middle of the room, you have to go through the tedious task of starting your work in the corner by removing the panel and working your way to the centre.

  • Suspended Drywall Ceiling:
In a suspended drywall ceiling, hangers and wires are used to hold together the sheets of drywall below the ceiling. It is less tedious as it does not require extensive framing in order to create a ceiling structure. In a suspended drywall ceiling, you can hang flat panels below the ceiling to make it aesthetically pleasing.
